Pokemon and Lego: Who needs Mature Games?

I’ve been on this earth for 28 years.

Today, at the age of 28, I got excited about two videogames that probably weren’t aimed at my age range. Care? No, I do not.

I wouldn’t normally post about new games that have been announced today, but when I saw these two announcements…I thought hell, lets do it.

I’ve made it quite clear that I really enjoyed LEGO Lord of The Rings. I do like the LEGO games, but perhaps the main reason for me enjoying TT Game’s romp around Middle-Earth is because of how much I love J R R Tolkien’s works (and we aren’t just talking about the films).

What could possibly be better than a Lord of The Rings LEGO game? How about a Marvel Super Heroes one?

Iron Man, Loki, The Hulk, Deadpool, Wolverine…approx 100 Marvel characters will be making an appearance in the upcoming title, which is set to hit retail at the end of this year. This could well be the best LEGO game…ever!*

* Probably a very biased comment

Nintendo have been bigging up an upcoming announcement, which has since been made this morning. You’ve possibly heard about it already, so let’s just get on with it. Following on from Black and White 2 comes a new Pokemon title for the Nintendo 3DS, Pokemon X and Y.

Alright, lets ignore the stupid names (X and Y, really?) and concentrate on gameplay footage of the first ‘proper’ Pokemon game on the 3DS. The trailer is embedded below. It looks fantastic, with my only reservations being the designs of a whole new heap of Pokemon as the last couple of hundred haven’t always lived up to the original (and still the best) pocket monsters from Blue/Red/Yellow.

I’ll leave the actual announcement to Pikachu…

Any of you, our lovely readers, tempted by the upcoming LEGO Super Heroes or the new Pokemon titles?
